Pikku Huopalahti Youth Centre organises activities for 9–18-year-olds. Our open and accessible facilities are designed with consideration to the wishes and needs of young people.
Children’s time is intended for pupils in the 3rd–6th grades (9–12-year-olds), while young people’s time is intended for 7th graders and older young people (13–18-year-olds). Our facilities are substance-free, discrimination-free and open to all. During open activities, several youth workers are present at the youth centre.
Our digital gaming equipment includes a PS4 + PS4 VR, Nintendo Wii game consoles and a retro console. Our traditional game equipment includes equipment for playing ping pong and pool as well as a large variety of board and card games, among other things. Our hall also includes equipment for playing floorball and indoor football, dance mirrors and other recreational equipment, etc. In the youth centre’s yard, there is a game area covered with artificial turf.
In addition to playing games, you can hang out, watch movies or cook in the spacious and well-equipped kitchen, for example. In addition to open activities, we organise excursions, events and group activities.
You should have a low threshold for contacting the youth workers and discussing the things on your mind.
We will listen to your wishes and involve all young people in planning and implementing the youth centre’s activities. We also implement activities related to the City of Helsinki’s young people’s influence system Ruuti in the area.
Pikku Huopalahti Youth Centre is part of the Munkkiniemi Youth Work Unit. The following also operate in the unit’s area:
